DESCRIPTION:Grab your hydration pack\, sunscreen\, hat\, and best hiking shoes\, because we’re hitting up the Red Rock Canyon! After a two mile hike\, we’ll get to see red rock canyons similar to those in Arizona. Four miles round trip\, slightly longer than our previous hike to the Top of the World. The hike is relatively straight forward\, but there are small trails that can be explored. We’ll be meeting approximately 15-20 minutes before the start of the hike. Komen Race for the Cure! The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure has been the most powerful event that raises significant funds and awareness for the breast cancer movement\, and honors those who have lost their battle with the disease. \nTo Register with Team Taiwan:\nVisit www.komenoc.org/race > Register Today\n> Join a Team > Login/Register\n> Search for Team Taiwan > Complete Registration*.\n*Registration Fees: Adult ($35) | Breast Cancer Survivors ($30) | Youth ($15). All ages are welcome! \nMeeting Place & Time:\n900 Newport Center Dr\, Newport Beach\, CA 92660\nTeam Taiwan will meet at 9:15 AM in front of the Newport Beach Marriott Hotel. We recommend to park at Corporate Plaza (PCH & Newport Center Dr.)\, and to walk to our meeting place at the Marriot Hotel. There is no need to shuttle. Our race time begins at approximately 9:45 AM and ends by 12:15 PM. Remember to bring sunscreen and your favorite thirst quencher. \nBackground Information:\nSusan G. Komen for the Cure is the world’s largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists fighting to save lives\, empower people\, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cures. Since 1982\, the organization has invested nearly $1 billion to fulfill the promise becoming one of the largest sources of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world. \nNorth America Taiwanese Women’s Association-Southern CA Chapter (NATWA-SCA) has been participating in this event since 2005 as “Team Taiwan”. We will love to invite all our friends to participate in this very meaningful activity to help raise funds for the breast cancer research and education.
